Invisalign® uses a series of custom-made clear aligners to gradually move your teeth into a planned position without traditional brackets and wires.
At Rinse Dental in Brooklands, Milton Keynes, your Invisalign journey is carefully planned around your smile, oral health and individual goals using modern digital technology.
Whether you’re concerned about crowding, gaps or the general alignment of your teeth, your first step is a consultation to understand what’s possible.
Invisalign® clear aligners offer a discreet and flexible approach to straightening your teeth.
The aligners are made from transparent material and fit closely around your teeth, making them much less noticeable than traditional fixed braces.
Your aligners can be removed for eating, drinking, brushing and flossing, allowing you to maintain your normal diet and oral hygiene routine.
Each series of aligners is individually manufactured based on a digital treatment plan created for your teeth.
Using digital scanning and Invisalign® treatment planning technology, we can plan how your teeth are intended to move throughout treatment.
Invisalign® can be used to treat a range of tooth alignment concerns, including:
When there isn't enough space for the teeth to sit evenly, causing them to overlap or rotate.
Spaces between teeth can often be reduced by gradually moving the teeth into improved positions.
Teeth that sit out of line with the rest of your smile may be suitable for clear aligner treatment.
Certain Bite Concerns Invisalign® can also be used for some bite and alignment problems depending on their complexity.
Every case is different. Your dentist will assess your teeth, gums and bite before confirming whether Invisalign® is suitable for you.
More complex orthodontic problems may require a different approach or referral for specialist orthodontic care.
Your Invisalign journey begins with a consultation to understand what you would like to change about your smile and whether clear aligner treatment may be suitable for you. We’ll assess your teeth, gums and bite, discuss your goals and talk you through what Invisalign treatment could involve. Where appropriate, we may also take digital photographs, X-rays and a 3D scan of your teeth as part of your assessment.
Using our iTero digital scanner, we create a detailed 3D model of your teeth. This allows your dentist to plan how your teeth are intended to move throughout treatment and develop a personalised Invisalign treatment plan around your smile. You’ll be able to review the proposed plan with your dentist and understand the expected stages of treatment before moving forward.
Once your treatment plan has been approved, your custom Invisalign aligners are produced specifically for your teeth. At your fitting appointment, we’ll make sure everything feels right and explain how to wear, remove and care for your aligners. You’ll usually progress through a series of aligners, with each one designed to gradually move your teeth towards their planned position.
Throughout treatment, you’ll return to Rinse Dental for review appointments so we can monitor how your teeth are moving. Your dentist will check your progress, make sure the aligners are fitting as expected and advise you when to move onto the next stages of treatment. Where necessary, adjustments or refinements can be made to help keep your treatment on track.
Once you reach the end of your planned aligner sequence, we’ll review your smile and assess the final position of your teeth. In some cases, additional refinement aligners may be recommended before active treatment is considered complete. At this stage, we can also discuss whether treatments such as professional teeth whitening or composite bonding could complement your result, if that is something you are interested in.
Once your teeth have reached their final planned position, retainers are used to help maintain the result. We’ll provide guidance on how and when to wear your retainers and how to look after them. Ongoing dental hygiene and routine dental care remain important to help keep your teeth, gums and newly aligned smile healthy.
Every Invisalign® journey is different.
Treatment is individually planned around the starting position of your teeth, your bite and the result we are working towards.
For some patients, aligning the teeth can be an important first step before other cosmetic treatment.
Straightening may allow us to improve tooth position before considering treatments such as professional whitening or composite bonding, helping us create a more considered overall smile plan.
At Rinse Dental, cosmetic treatment begins with healthy teeth and gums, so we’ll also make sure your oral health is stable before Invisalign® treatment begins.
Invisalign® treatment uses a sequence of custom-made clear aligners.
Each aligner applies controlled forces to gradually move your teeth according to your digital treatment plan.
You'll progress through the aligners as instructed by your dentist while attending review appointments to monitor your treatment.
Invisalign® aligners generally need to be worn for approximately 20–22 hours per day, or as instructed by your dentist.
They are normally removed for eating, drinking anything other than appropriate cold drinks, brushing and flossing.
Treatment time varies considerably depending on the starting position of your teeth and the amount of movement required.
Following your consultation and digital assessment, your dentist can give you a more personalised indication of your expected treatment time.
Because Invisalign® aligners are removable, you take them out when eating.
This means you don't have the same food restrictions associated with fixed braces, but you will need to keep your teeth and aligners clean throughout treatment.
No orthodontic treatment is suitable for everyone.
Invisalign® can treat many tooth-alignment concerns, but suitability depends on your teeth, gums, bite and the complexity of the movements required.
Your dentist will assess this before recommending treatment.
It is normal to experience some pressure or tightness when moving to a new aligner as your teeth begin to move.
This is usually temporary, but you should contact us if you experience persistent or unexpected discomfort.
Yes. Teeth have a natural tendency to move after orthodontic treatment.
Retainers are therefore an important part of maintaining the position of your teeth once Invisalign® treatment has been completed.
We'll discuss your retention plan with you towards the end of treatment.
Yes, professional teeth whitening can often be considered once your Invisalign® treatment has been completed and your oral health is suitable.
Some patients also choose to combine whitening with composite bonding as part of a wider smile plan.
